Cool Colors® Iron Manganese Black Oxide (PBk33)
Cool Colors® Pigment Black 33 (C.I.77537) is a black Manganese Ferrite offering moderate NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance) with a chemical formula MnFe2O4 and a hematite structure.
Cool Colors® PBk33 Iron Manganese Black Oxide pigments provide a brownish to bluish black shade. They are opaque to visible light with moderate NIR reflectance ("cool pigment") and offer properties that include ease of dispersion with excellent dimensional stability, resulting in no warping or shrinkage.
These pigments can replace carbon black or black iron oxide when they can't be used for technical reasons, especially as a replacement for accurately sorting black black plastics, which are typically colored with carbon black colorants that do not reflect well in NIR sorting devices.

Nubifer NB-803K FCP is an Iron Manganese Black Oxide pigment (PBk33) that has been formulated reflect light from the emitter, allowing the sensor to properly identify and sort various plastics during the recycling process.
Formulated to Meet Rigorous Food Contact Regulations
Nubifer NB-803K FCP is part of our complete FCP product range that is AP89(1) certified for each lot (even at lower limits than the AP89(1) standard), and complies with the requirements established by EU 10/2011 regarding plastic packaging in contact with food and has acquired FDA approval (FDA 21 CFR 178.3297) to be used up to 5% in the final plastic material.
Ferro FCP black pigments are not only designed specifically to meet the requirements of individual polymer sorting via NIR reflection technologies, they also provide the color, processing, and surface finish properties needed across the diverse polymers required for food contact applications.
