Dielectric Ceramics for Non-Capacitor Components
Ferro manufacturers a large array of dielectric ceramic powders and formulations specially designed to deliver high performance in many non-capacitor components. These include high frequency dielectric powders, low temperature ceramic formulations and new ceramic formulations for Microwave (5G) applications.
HIGH FREQUENCY (CLASS I CAPACITOR GRADE) DIELECTRIC POWDERS
Ferro offers high frequency dielectric ceramic powders with response properties that have been characterized by fabricating these powders into non-metalized sintered discs and then testing them using microwave cavity test fixtures. This methodology enables the comparison of various materials without noise effects due to specific component fabrication and design.
Many of Ferro’s high-frequency dielectric powders are Pb/Cd free and are formulated and processed to be RoHS compliant.
LOW TEMPERATURE CERAMIC FORMULATIONS
Our low temperature ceramic formulations include LCF mid-K and LCF high-K formulations designed for passive electronic component applications that include ESD/EMI filters, multilayer ceramic capacitor MLCC and single layer chip (SLC) components. Ferro’s LCF Series formulations are co-fireable with 100%Ag, 95% Ag/5Pd, and 90%Ag/10Pd conductors.
Ferro’s LCF Ceramic Formulations are Pb/Cd free and are formulated and processed to be RoHS compliant.
LOW TEMPERATURE GLASS-CERAMIC COMPOSITES
Our low temperature glass-ceramic composites have a wide range of K values for use in a variety of components across a vast range of frequencies. Ferro Glass-ceramic composite formulations are designed for used in ceramic inductors, fuses, common mode filters, SAW devices, antennas, EMI, ESD, and other chip and multilayer components. Powder forms are also available for both wet-stack and tape application processes.

LOW TEMPERATURE CO-FIRED CERAMICS FOR HIGH FREQUENCY (5G) APPLICATIONS
MW8U, MW40U and MW8UHQ are low-temperature dielectric formulations designed to process like LTCC (Low-Temperature Co-Fired Ceramics) for use in high frequency passive electronic component applications that include band-pass filters, ESD/EMI filters, multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC) and single layer capacitor devices.
MW8U, MWU40U or MW8UHQ ceramic formulations can be used separately or can be co-fired with other Ferro MW ceramic formulations. Our MW formulations are compatible with 100% Ag conductors and can be used with latex or solvent-based binder systems.
Ferro’s portfolio of low-temperature co-fired ceramic products for high-frequency applications are PB/Cd free and are formulated and process to be RoHS compliant.
