Special Coatings for Ceramic Decoration

Ferro offers special coatings used in the ceramic decoration process including refreshing covercoats, protective coats and cold-strippable coats. Our special coatings can be used with decorations processed with automatic and semi-automatic screen printing equipment.

Special Coatings and Special Decal Covercoats for Ceramic Decoration
Our special coatings include a cold-strippable coating which is a non-thixotropic (flowing) covercoat that can be stripped from various substrates once it has dried, making it ideal for non-fired decals used to transfer company logos to various items or to temporarily cover areas of ceramic objects.
Special Coatings for Ceramic Decoration
Due to its excellent combustibility and depolymerization, our refreshing covercoat can be used for decorations on glass, porcelain, ceramic and enamel.

Ferro also offers a special protective coating.  This type of coating is printed onto the printed color decor before printing the covercoat to help prevent uncontrollable firing defects, such as pinholes and blistering, which can often occur in decorations using thick layers of ink, such as embossed designs.
